Ok my blog is probably running for the most boring site on the internet now, so I’ll make an effort to write a bit more each day.
Yesterday I had listening during the day and a non-Korean commitment in the evening. At night I read a novel for an hour before sleeping.
Lately I’m writing a lot of letters and things on Cyworld to some of my closest friends, so I’m getting good writing practice in. I’m also going through the pains of adjusting my sleep schedule so I wake up at the ungodly hour of dawn. And at that ungodly hour I go to the Korean church for a short service and prayer. Then I come back and sleep a little bit, but am trying to phase that out. I’ve been going every day for about 10 days, almost religiously.
With sleeping a bit more I still have time to exercise and make breakfast before work, but I want to spend some time studying Korean at home as well. I think that once I can push my bed time down to 9PM I won’t need the extra nap after dawn prayer.

Looking forward to a bit more than “was with friends all evening”!
Maybe you can write another one of your articles or two?
BTW, don’t you think it funny to to church at an ‘ungodly hour’?
Also, while we’re on topic, may I suggest the Korean version of Richard Dawkin’s “The God Delusion”?
The ‘ungodly hour’ bit was meant as a joke
Damn, thought I caught a slip, and then it was all engineered!
I need to work on my delivery ㅋㅋ
I figured you would have went out and picked up StarCraft II.
Nobody I know seems to be interested in it. I guess the original has some real staying power.
Oh very cool! I’ve gone to the 새벽기도 off and on but never for ten days straight. Are you finding it helping your Korean?
I think it’s less about my Korean and more about getting a good start to my day!
These days I understand every word in the sermons, but there are definitely different levels of understanding, and I’m still improving.
아 그렇군요. 맞어요. .
Goldfibre,
No complaints from me on the lack of serious blog material lately. In someways it helps with language learning. I come here, don’t spend tons of time reading in English, and see that you are still working on your Korean which helps me get a bit more motivation. There are seasons, no doubt, but this one is a good reminder that getting into a routine that works for you, that gets you into the language everyday, is something you must find if you want to succeed.
I’m glad you understand.
I’m sometimes torn between two ways of writing my daily blog. First is the desire to write less because I don’t want to mystify language learning, and the second is to write more about the kinds of things I’m experiencing through my Korean ability. I was certainly curious about the same kinds of things when I started out.
